Tiki Bar -”The Cockeyed Pig”

The Cockeyed Pig

After a long day of adventure and excitement, what better way to unwind than by relaxing at your very own private Tiki Bar! We can mix up a wide selection of local-style drinks, beverages and pupus (appetizers)  for your enjoyment.

By Invitation Only

Meals Available

Breakfast  is $10 per person, which is included with your cabin. We will need to know in advance how many servings to prepare. You may choose from:

  1. Fresh local fruits with granola & yogurt
  2. Oatmeal & toast
  3. Eggs, bacon & toast

All breakfasts are served at the Tiki Bar with coffee, tea and juice. We’ll get your day started off right!

Lunch: If your day’s plans include an adventure with Poke-A-Stick Guided Lava Tours, then your lunch will be prepared at the Hilo office or  we can pack you a picnic/backpack lunch to your liking for only $12. Please order in advance.

Dinner: But here at Kalapana Lava Refuge, it’s chef Scotty and his open-fire-pit dinners that really steal the show. Meat, fish, veggie, he can do it all in style — “Hawaiian Kine” family style, that is.  We’ll get you started with pupus at the Tiki Bar, as the sun sets and the evening glow of the volcano begins to emerge. $25 per person.

Internet & Phone

Taking an adventure vacation doesn’t mean you have to be totally cut off from the outside world – unless you want to be. We do have limited broadband Internet service available by using our computer, but there is no local wi-fi service.  Otherwise, we have limited telephone and no television service.

We do have limited cellphone reception here at the Refuge, but only for Verizon & ATT.  We do have internet service at the Tiki Bar.
